We chose the two that we felt most confident in their art as well as storyline.

Meet Beatriz Garcia. She's an manga artist from Spain, she has a small child and works part time. She has done collaborations with several magazines and fanzines: "if-x, replika, y-latino, supeingo fanzine, and a 2007 winner of a manga contest called Portal of internet (Portal Ociojoven). Beatriz submitted her manga called Karma. When I looked at her submission, I liked her shoujo style art and her story of humans and Shinigami's caught my attention. I feel alot of readers will be captivated by Karma.

Meet Jean Fumero. He studied illustration at a spanish academy of comics. Even though he doesn't have a fine arts career, he learned fine arts in a small art school. Jean Fumero specializes in both fine arts and illustration and likes to combine the two art forms when drawing his manga.

Jean Fumero resides in Barcelona where he was born and raised and is spending time on his current project " Matilda's decap adventure" where he combines his knowledge of painting, manga, and storytelling. His manga and anime influences consist of mature stories from: Miyazaki, mamoru oshii,or Satoshi Kon. Things like Jin Roh, Ghost in the shell, Mononoke, paranohia agent, or ergo proxi. He enjoys the comedic titles such as Fooly Cooly, detroit metal city, and dead leaves.
